Last year, as a writing exercise I wrote a blog from the perspective of a character in one of my screenplays.
Life is Swede is the story of an American ex pat in Stockholm who comes to suspect her boyfriend of murder. It rather unexpectedly took off, with a gratifyingly rapt audience tuning in for the daily posts about Regan’s ups and downs settling into a new country for over six months. When the first murder happened (the screenplay is a psychological thriller), some readers contacted Swedish newspapers for more information (and I had to come clean!).
I followed this up with a daily serial thriller, Identity, in which a troubled psychologist goes undercover to catch a killer, then switched gears a bit to write a rom-com fiction serial for Stockholm ex pat website Your Living City, Love Refugee.
